SYNOPSIS:
AT 2:00 PM TODAY, AN ACTIVE LOW PRESSURE AREA (ALPA) WAS ESTIMATED BASED ON SATELLITE AND SURFACE DATA AT 190 KM EAST OF CENTRAL LUZON (15.5ºN 123.0ºE).
MEANWHILE, A LOW PRESSURE AREA (LPA) WAS ESTIMATED AT 520 KM EAST OF VISAYAS (10.5ºN 131.0ºE).
FORECAST:
LUZON AND VISAYAS WILL EXPERIENCE MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH SCATTERED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BECOMING CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED TO WIDESPREAD RAINS OVER THE EASTERN SECTION OF LUZON WHICH MAY TRIGGER POSSIBLE FLASHFLOODS AND LANDSLIDES. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS MOSTLY IN THE AFTERNOON OR EVENING.
MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY STRONG WINDS BLOWING FROM THE SOUTHWEST WILL PREVAIL OVER SOUTHERN LUZON AND VISAYAS WITH MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY ROUGH SEAS. LIGHT TO MODERATE WINDS COMING FROM THE SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH WILL PREVAIL OVER THE REST OF LUZON AND FROM THE SOUTHWEST OVER THE REST OF THE COUNTRY. THE COASTAL WATERS ALONG THESE AREAS WILL BE SLIGHT TO MODERATE EXCEPT DURING THUNDERSTORMS.
MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY STRONG WINDS BLOWING FROM THE SOUTHWEST WILL PREVAIL OVER SOUTHERN LUZON AND VISAYAS WITH MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY ROUGH SEAS. LIGHT TO MODERATE WINDS COMING FROM THE SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH WILL PREVAIL OVER THE REST OF LUZON AND FROM THE SOUTHWEST OVER THE REST OF THE COUNTRY. THE COASTAL WATERS ALONG THESE AREAS WILL BE SLIGHT TO MODERATE EXCEPT DURING THUNDERSTORMS.
