SYNOPSIS:
AT 2:00 AM TODAY, A LOW PRESSURE AREA (LPA) WAS ESTIMATED BASED ON SATELLITE AND SURFACE DATA AT 280 KM EAST OF TUGUEGARAO CITY (17.5ºN 124.7ºE). AND ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE AREA AT 300 KM WEST SOUTHWEST OF LAOAG CITY (17.8ºN 117.5ºE).SOUTHWEST MONSOON AFFECTING LUZON AND VISAYAS.

FORECAST:
LUZON AND VISAYAS WILL EXPERIENCE CLOUDY SKIES WITH SCATTERED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BECOMING WIDESPREAD RAINS OVER THE WESTERN SECTIONS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN LUZON AND WESTERN VISAYAS WHICH MAY TRIGGER FLASHFLOODS AND LANDSLIDES. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS MOSTLY IN THE AFTERNOON OR EVENING.
MODERATE TO STRONG WINDS BLOWING FROM THE SOUTHWEST WILL PREVAIL OVER LUZON AND VISAYAS AND THE COASTAL WATERS ALONG THESE AREAS WILL BE MODERATE TO ROUGH. ELSEWHERE, WINDS WILL BE LIGHT TO MODERATE BLOWING FROM THE SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST WITH SLIGHT TO MODERATE SEAS EXCEPT DURING THUNDERSTORMS.
